Oyo South Senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Honourable Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo, has begun series of recently-completed constituency projects valued at over N1 billion.

The projects are said to cover education, digital technology, water supply, healthcare and community development.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, Olajide Odidiomo said the interventions were in fulfilment of his promise to deliver tangible dividends of representation to the people of Oyo South Senatorial District.

According to the statement, the projects cut across different communities within the senatorial district and were designed to expand access to opportunities and address basic needs.

Among the flagship projects are 10 digital learning centres established in secondary schools across Ibadan. The centres are equipped with modern digital learning tools to enhance technology-driven education, skills acquisition and entrepreneurship.

The beneficiary schools are said to be Baptist Secondary School, Liberty Road, Oke-Ado; Eleyele Grammar School, Fan Milk Road, Eleyele; Adifase High School, Apata; Bashorun Ogunmola Grammar School, behind Iister Building, Ring Road; Community High School, Ekotedo; Peoples Girls Grammar School, Molete; Ibadan Boys High School, Oke-Bola; Army Barracks Grammar School, Eleyele; Our Lady of Apostles, Odo-Ona/Apata; and African Church Grammar School, Apata, Ibadan.

Speaking on the rationale, Odidiomo said the investment reflects his determination to prioritize the future of young people.

“While others are busy in the market, I am busy building the future of your children,” the lawmaker said.

The statement also disclosed the provision of boreholes in communities where access to potable water remains a challenge.

Completed projects include ward 10 of Ido Local Government, ward 9 of Ibadan South-West, the Imalefalafia area of Oke-Ado, and the Anfaani House/Ring Road axis of Ibadan.

In healthcare, the turning of the sod for a proposed 50-bed health centre in Ido Local Government Area has been scheduled for next week.

On technology, an ICT centre is under construction at Bako in Ido LGA, while another ICT intervention at Anfaani, valued at over ₦200 million, is nearing completion.

Mustapha described the Anfaani facility as a major investment in digital inclusion, skills development and youth empowerment.

Mustapha said the combined value of projects completed, ongoing and lined up for implementation is in excess of ₦1 billion, reflecting the scale of resources being channeled into constituency development.

He added that a special committee has completed an audit of previous projects facilitated by Odidiomo to determine their condition and areas requiring rehabilitation, to ensure they remain functional and useful to the people.

“The essence of representation is impact. It is about identifying the needs of the people, deploying resources strategically and ensuring that the benefits get directly to the communities,” Mustapha said.

He noted that more projects would be unveiled as Odidiomo expands interventions across Oyo South, with special attention to communities outside the immediate urban centres of Ibadan, down to Ibarapaland, to ensure rural and underserved areas are not left behind.

The media aide said the agenda aligned with Odidiomo’s bid to represent Oyo South in the 2027 general election, with a focus on expanding opportunities, improving infrastructure and enhancing the well-being of constituents.
